Bespoke rigid boxes are an ever-popular choice in the world of luxury packaging, catering to various industries such as jewellery, cosmetics, perfumes, and fashion. These paper package boxes are highly customizable, accommodating both small and large production runs, and are adaptable to meet almost any design or budget requirement. Rigid paper packaging offers a wealth of benefits, including enhanced protection, easy handling, display potential, reusability, and compatibility to cover with various textures.
The process of manufacturing paper package boxes is relatively simple. Firstly, cardboard is chosen, with the least pricey option being greyboard, used for boxes that prioritise function over aesthetics. There are various alternatives, including coloured boards like white-lined or black-lined that cater to more decorative pieces, matching the print used on the laminated wraps for the outer box and lid.
Once the specified cardboard is chosen, a die made from both knives and scores is qualified to cut and score the shape of the box's desired design. The knives' edge cuts through the material, while the scoring partially penetrates the board, allowing for bending and construction of the 3D paper package. Adhesive tape is then strategically placed on the corners of the tray and lid to hold them in place. Branded wraps that can be printed, embossed, or foil stamped are then glued to the surface of the cardboard with a heavy weight stamp that presses against the cut-out board, securing it securely in place. The wrap is then rolled over the tray and glued to its sides and inner lip with an in-turned edge, giving the paper package box its final 3D form, ready for use.
Paper package boxes can be custom-made to fit specific requirements, with options such as hinges, compartments, and platforms with added features like windows, ribbon pulls and magnetic closures that make these boxes even more unique and attractive. At Progress, we manufacture various designs and formats of bespoke rigid paper packaging that cater to the ever-growing and diverse needs of our customers.
